Instructions:

Arrive with a comfortably full bladder (drink about 500ml of water 45–60 minutes before).

This helps improve visibility of the urinary bladder, especially important for abdominal scans.

For Upper Abdominal Scans, Men's and Woman's Health Scans please fast at least 6 hours before your appointment time.

What can an ultrasound scan show?
Ultrasound can assess organs, soft tissues, and blood vessels, helping detect abnormalities such as stones, cysts, lumps, inflammation, or changes in size and structure.

Yes – Our sonographer is fully qualified, HCPC-registered professional with extensive NHS and private sector experience within hospitals such as Kingsmill, QMC, City Hospital Nottingham, Derby and Lincoln County Hospital.
Are your sonographers qualified?

Yes – ultrasound is a safe, non-invasive procedure with no known risks for adults when used appropriately for medical purposes, as supported by the British Medical Ultrasound Society (BMUS) and the NHS. Ultrasound uses no radiation, and is painless. A small amount of gel is applied to the skin, and a handheld probe is moved over the area to capture images.
Is ultrasound safe for adults?

You’ll receive a printed non-diagnostic report at the end of your appointment by an experienced Advanced Practitioner Diagnostic Sonographer. Digital images are available for an additional £10. We can answer any questions you may have right after your scan.
